Knowledge about individual skin properties is helpful for choosing adequate skin care products and treatment regimens.
Common definitions of skin types and skin properties are listed below.
The following aspects should be considered in this context:
Individual skin type may change due to external (e.g. climate, season ) and internal (e.g. medications, hormonal changes) factors over time – it is not static;
Several skin types and properties may be present simultaneously in an individual in different localisations, e.g. oily skin with irritated skin patches.
These characteristics should help you to choose the appropriate treatment program for a particular client.
This skin type is often associated with age, and often to be found in heavy smokers or those who sun-bathe for too long.
Reasons: poor diet: too much meat, greasy food, shortage of Vitamins A, E, and C. The skin complexion is often grayish. The blood contain too little iron. The Redox process is insufficient .
Personality type: heavy smoker, not enough fresh air. People with an unsatisfactory personal life. Such people often have a sad look in their eyes.
Treatment advise:
⇒ Vital Energy Treatment
Combination skin is rather dry in some parts of the face (cheeks)  and oily in other localisations. (T-zone)
Mixed facial skin tends toward dryness on the cheeks and around the eyes while being oily in the T-zone (nose, forehead, chin).
The dry parts and the oily parts require different skin care regimens. This skin type is very common.
Treatment advise:
⇒ Purity Intense - Oily Skin Treatment
Skin with visible blood vesssels (red patches) .
Thin, fine skin texture with couperosis. The capillary walls often display a shortage of silicium and Vitamin P.
In thicker skin types, the couperosis often takes the form of an ailment. This means that different treatments are needed in different cases.
Personality type:
fine skin with diffuse red patches; Nordic type, blonde with thin skin. Thick skin with couperosis; fiery type with hot flushes (after heavy meals).
Treatment advise:
⇒ Skin Therapy - Couperouse Treatment
When this type of skin is pressed together it reveals tiny creases in the fold.
The pores are usually large and blocked, the stratum corneum forming a visibly horny layer.
Personality type:
sun-worshipper, women approaching the menopause, athletes, persons suffering from a sulphur deficiency.
Treatment advise:
⇒ Hyaluronic, Aloe Vera
Fine skin texture, often suffering badly; reddens easily, often tends to form erythræmia.
In many cases, it can also be sensitive, and display fine wrinkles.
Often related to a lack of Vitamins A, E, and F.
Personality type:
slim, androgynous type, intestines problems, tends to suffer diarrhoea.
Easy to recognize by dry, rough  palms.
Treatment advise:
⇒ Dry Skin, Aloe Vera Treatments
With age, the skin’s sebum production slows down, often leading to increased dryness, an accentuation of fine lines and wrinkles, and flakiness. The skin may appear dull, and finally start to itch and burn. In women, the shifting balance of hormones with menopause causes various changes. As their skin thins considerably after the menopause, women’s skin may become more sensitive to sun damage and weather extremes.
Another problem is hyperpigmentation, especially in persons with a long history of sun exposure.
While it is important to meet the needs of mature skin, it is necessary to keep in mind that not all persons over 40 experience the above-mentioned problems. Therefore different skin care regimens may be necessary in persons of the same age according to their skin type.
Treatment advise:
⇒ Time Control, Golden Skin, Skinvision
Normal skin displays a smooth texture and a rosy, clear surface, with fine pores.
There are no visible blemishes, greasy patches or flaky areas.
Sebum production, moisture content, keratinisation and desquamation ( shedding of the outermost membrane or layer of a tissue) are well-balanced.
Normal skin is mostly found in healthy young persons.
Treatment advise:
⇒ Vital Energy Treatment
Oily skin is characterized by an increased amount of lipids on the skin surface due to overactive sebaceous glands
Oily Skin can be divided in two categories: Oily Hydrated Skin ( younger types) and Oily Dehydrated Skin ( more typical for mature skin types).
Oily Hydrated skin is shiny and thick, often with enlarged pores (orange like peel).
Oily Dehydrated skin has an impression of dry and scaly skin. Sebum on skin surface is usually dense, mixed up with stratum corneum (horny skin layer) particles and thus dosn't shine, perhaps a few wrinkles and some deep folds are also present.
Both types of Oily skin is prone to blackheads (comedons), whiteheads (miliae) and other blemishes.
Oily skin has a greasy appearance, low pH-balance factor and very often accompanied with  inflammation (acne).
Oily skin occurs more often in men than in women, and it predominantly affects adolescents and younger people.
The facial complexion is yellowish or grayish, and the skin is or can be thick and horny.
Personality type:
nervous type, wrong digestion, wrong diet (eating too much meet and greasy food), not drinking enough water.
Treatment advise:
⇒ Purity Intense - Oily Skin Treatment

Patients are tend to describe their skin as “sensitive” if it frequently reacts with redness, itching, burning or dryness to the topical application of skin care products. Causes for this condition may be an underlying skin disorder, allergies, contact to irritants in certain products, or the use of inappropriate and wrong skin type products as well.
Treatment advise:
⇒ Sensitive Skin Treatment
Oedematous, spongy skin.
Can be described as very pale, white skin with an oedematous tissue. The lymphatic metabolism is rarely working properly.

This skin condition often showing symptoms of hyper-pigmentatation and slow collagen synthesis.

Early recognized symptoms of photoaging:
hyper-pigmentation and formation of deep wrinkles around eyes, mouth and forehead and other skin areas commonly exposed to sun.
Prominent spider veins on face and neck areas.
Loss of lips color and shape fullness.

Symptoms of photoaging attributed to prolonged exposure to the sun:
Wrinkles deepen and forehead frown lines can be seen even when face muscles are relaxed
Age spots appear on the face and hands
Possible appearance of  pre-cancerous red and scaly spots
Increase of cutaneous thickness

are the main constituent of the lipid layers, which act as a moisture barrier in the corneous layer of the skin.
The corneous layer is made up of eight to fifteen layers of flattened, dead corneous cells, which adhere to each other firmly. Shortly before cornification the living cells produce various lipids, known as barrier lipids. They are pressed together to form the lipid layers like ‘bricks’ in the corneous layer. The lipid layers act like cement in a brick wall, simultaneously holding and protecting the corneous cells.
Ceramides are parts of these lipid layers. They are unusually large and act like links between the adjoining lipid layers.
The efficiency of the barrier-forming lipid layers can be impacted in a number of ways. The consequences are greater skin aging, wrinkles and loss of elasticity in the tissue.

Co-Enzyme Q10
Coenzyme Q10 was discovered back in 1956.
Dr. Karl Folker and his research colleagues at the University of Texas  were the first scientists
to realise the vital significance of Q10 for the respiration and energy production of human cell.
Q 10 is a fat-soluble substance, which resembles a vitamin, is present in most human cells, primarily in the mitochondria.
It is a component of the electron transport chain and participates in aerobic cellular respiration,
which generates energy in the form of ATP. Ninety-five percent of the human body’s energy is generated this way. Without Q10 there  would be no energy, or rather no human cell would be able to carry out its function in the body. [Time Control]

Creatine’s properties are fascinating: it boosts cell metabolism, prolongs moisture retention, prevents the occurrence of wrinkles and minimizes the fine lines and wrinkles already present. The last two effects are the result from Creatine’s ability to  stimulate Collagen formation. This in turn leads to production of the skin’s own natural Ceramides. The results are younger and more radiant skin appearance. [Golden Skin]

Hyaluronic acid
Hyaluronic acid is naturally present in various body tissues and fluids, e.g. in tears, inside the eyes , in cartilage and joints, and importantly in our skin. Here, hyaluronic acid molecules form the principal component of the filling material between the skin cells. Hyaluronic acid is also responsible for mechanical characteristics such as tensile strength and elasticity. Loss of this filling material results in a loss of skin volume and tonicity leading in turn to the development of wrinkles.
High molecular hyaluronic acid
Forms a film on the skin surface, which does not, however, hinder
cuteneous respiration and permits the circulation of light and air.
Intensively hydrating.
It does immediate effect through moisture binding power, thus plumping up wrinkles from inside out.

Hyaluronic Acid (cont.)
Hyaluronic Acid properties are twofold. On the one hand, it fills the skin from the inside out. It settles between the cells and creates channels through which the body can transport nutrients and liquid. In addition, Hyaluronic Acid promotes skin regeneration. It boosts cell division and aids new cells to travel to the surface of the skin. On the other hand, Hyaluronic Acid literally plumps the skin. This is due to its ability to store extremely high levels of moisture. Hyaluronic Acid is ultimately the ‘Secret’ for young and firm skin.

Hyaluronic Spheres
Hyaluronic acid is surrounded freeze-dried with a liposome-like protective sheath. Thus, the very small in size Hyaluronic Filling Spheres can penetrate rapidly into the skin. In the deeper layers of cells, the fillings loose spheres after which hyaluronic acid acts on the intercellular level. Thereby it plumps up the wrinkles from the inside.
